Dropping his mouth slightly in surprise, Julian watched as Lily served him generously with the tarte choco-poire. But his fork speared the chocolatey dessert without hesitation, and for nearly half a minute, Julian was speechless. Chocolate never failed to paralyze his senses for a bit, especially chocolate-based desserts that had a lot of character in them.
"Mmff.." Was all he could come up following the pregnant pause. Julian's mouth was pursed into a tightly sealed place where the taste of chocolate pervaded until the man regained enough of his wits to savor and swallow his first bite.
"I might marry you for this," he joked, eagerly getting his second bite. There was still the zabaglione to be wary of, and after deeming himself ready to be blown away once more, Julian took a spoon and dug in his glass.
"Merlin!" he exclaimed after a while. "They're really good! I begin to wonder what you'd do to a tiramisu!"

Lily grinned. She very infrequently had the opportunity to really bake for someone, and she loved doing it. Julian's reaction made it even more worthwhile, and she couldn't help but smile at him. As she dug into her own plate. At his joking marriage proposal, Lily laughed, covering her mouth with her napkin, as she was certain the tarte wouldn't look as appetizing half-masticated.
"After the dinner you made me, you'd better be careful! I might agree to it!" she teased. Happily she continued eating, scraping every last bit from her plate and glass. Once she was through, Lily waited until Julian was finished and then began clearing the table. As she worked, she suggested, "Why don't we go do something...fun?" After all, the dishes really could do themselves. Why stay cooped up inside on such a beautiful day?
"We probably need the exercise after that feast," she added jokingly.
